Huw Roberts Monthly Newsletter : Cylchlythyr Misol : 17 .10. 2017
Two clients have recently discovered that their pensions suddenly stopped being paid due to “Administrative errors”. If you are in receipt of regular sources of income, check your bank statements to see that they are all being received as anticipated.
There is a gradual decrease in what is classified as self employed work. The BBC is now classifying individuals such as many presenters as employees. This means that fewer costs can be claimed and the taxpayer will pay some thousands of pounds of extra tax. The upside of this is that these individuals can now claim holiday and sickness pay. If you are affected and want me to check on any new contract, please let me know.
There is an increasing demand for financial advice regarding elderly parents and their financial matters. Please contact me if applicable.
I am often asked for details of other professionals to assist with matters.
In addition to my regular will planning work, I have been asked recently for solicitor recommendations for property purchases, motoring convictions and defence of a civil case.
Similarly I have contacts with IFAs and insurance brokers for investment, retirement plans, drawdown, insurance etc.
I have a wide range of contacts. Please let me know if there are matters where I may be able to provide an initial contact.
Clients continue to receive bogus threatening phone calls supposedly from HMRC demanding immediate payments - remain scam aware and use your common sense.
Newyddion da - mae’r ewyllys gyntaf yn y Gymraeg yn awr yn cael ei pharatoi. Rowch wybod os yw hyn o ddiddordeb. (A full Welsh language will service is now available).
Budget Day is on 22 November and the November newsletter will be prepared after the Budget. If you have any major transactions contemplated where tax may be / or may become a problem, aim to complete the transaction under current tax law - it is unlikely that this will be a kind budget to individuals.
If there are any matters you or your colleagues wish to discuss on personal tax / probate / inheritance tax / will planning please get in contact / cysylltwch gyda
